McDonalds Official Opening
Castle Healthcare directors, Stephen McConville and Lee Dearn, were delighted to have Health Minister Edwin Poots on hand to open the newly refitted McDonalds Pharmacy recently.
Minister Poots said “Through the provision of services closer to home, pharmacists have an important role to play in the successful delivery of Transforming Your Care.”
Speaking about the refit and the opening Stephen said, “Updating the premises to make the pharmacy fit for the future has been quite a journey and required significant investment. Lee and I are very proud of what has been achieved, and we are delighted to have the support of the Minister.”
McDonalds Pharmacy Refit
We are delighted to announce that the refit of our McDonalds Pharmacy, Castlereagh Road premises has recently been completed. Although this nineteenth-century building has housed a pharmacy for decades, it needed significant investment to make it ready to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
With the business housed in temporary accommodation for five weeks, we were able to achieve a complete transformation. A large amount of structural work, including the removal of the wall separating the shop front from the old dispensary, has allowed a more user-friendly and spacious feel to be achieved. The addition of a consultation room for the provision of services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure testing and other health monitoring gives us a strong professional focus. Finally, a complete overhaul of the exterior and front of shop, together with a new colour palette gives exactly the fresh, clean look we were aiming for.
Many thanks to our staff and customers who have had to bear with us through all the upheaval. We are sure you will all agree that it was worth it!
We have also taken the opportunity to refresh the exteriors of our Knockmore and Strandburn pharmacies with the new company colour scheme and new, modern signage. In addition, use of our consultation rooms for confidential sessions with our trained staff is increasing.
Our pharmacies are at the heart of their communities, and we will continue to invest to ensure that our stores are ready to administer the services that our customers and patients tell us they want us to provide, and we welcome your comments on our new look!
